CB2 Evaluation Day 1-2

So I dropped a bomb yesterday and committed to working through all of these products starting with CB2, and yesterday was my second day of working through the first couple of steps.  I identified a couple of niches in which I’ll try to market products, and am in the process of finding products and building a web site (s).  One thing I noticed is that there are a lot of references to a 3rd party software product called Market Samurai and I’m wondering if I should purchase it? The materials say that it’s not necessary to be successful, but it seems like it might make things more efficient – and I’m all about efficient. There’s a special going on right now and I wouldn’t have to get into my $2,000 budget that much to purchase it so I think I’m going to buy it tonight and see if it can help me get a bigger jump start.

A couple of things that I think are already going to take some additional ramp up time on my part are the web set up and the content creation.  I’m planning on using a service to create a majority of my content, but I’m not having a ton of luck finding free sales copy from the products I’m thinking of marketing – this could make things difficult.  Maybe Market Samurai can help?  I’ll let you know in tomorrow’s post if it does.

Something else that it’s taking me a little bit to get used to are the use of Pen Names.  Many authors have pen names for the columns they write to protect their anonymity, but do I really need one as an Internet Marketer?  If I do, why do I need one?  Is there some type of course material down the road that is going to teach me how to get people to give me their email address so I can Spam them with product offers – still not to sure on this one, but I’m going to do it because the program says to do it.

One other thing that I can recommend to anyone using a product like this is to keep a pad and paper nearby.  There are a lot of words in the material and videos that I don’t know the meanings of, and a glossary would have been nice.  But this has been my experience with every home based business course  I’ve ever purchased they all seem to have their own set of words and definitions.  I just write them down and look them up on line so I can find out what they mean.

An Experiment in Starting a Home Based Business

Welcome to a new site dedicated to reviewing and providing information about home based business opportunities.  Over the past few years I have spent thousands of dollars on numerous home based business opportunities and none of them have worked.  I receive hundreds of emails every week for the latest and greatest new opportunity, and every time I try one it doesn’t work, it’s difficult to get  a refund, and the support stinks.  So it got me to thinking, is there really a business opportunity out there in real estate, internet marketing, information product creation, etc. that actually works?

So I started doing a little research and the information that I found pointed me to a set of products that have been reviewed all over online as the best.  They’re the blueprint products Commission Blueprint 2.0© , Infoprodigy©, and Blueprint Black Edition©.  Over the next year, I’m going to follow these programs to a T and document through this site my experiences in starting my own home business.  At the same time I’m going to be posting articles about some of the things I’ve learned in attempting to apply the various systems and programs I’ve purchased.

A little background on me…I’m a certified project manager currently working in IT.  In a little over 9 years since I’ve graduated from college I’ve achieved a decent level of success at becoming a certified project manager, obtaining a Master’s Certificate in project management, and making over six figures annually for the last couple years.   I’ve also had a decent amount of experience in sales, contract negotiation and running a small business.  The reason I bring up my background is that I’m assuming that if my experiences with any of the products that I review are less than the products claim, my background and commitment will be called into question by these product makers.  With the achievements that I’ve had to date it’s unlikely that I don’t have the knowledge, ability or commitment to follow these systems.

It’s also worth pointing out that I do work in IT; however, I’m still a novice at web development and I have limited knowledge of internet marketing.  I do understand how web pages work and I cold use a web page editor to build one.

For my first review and chronicle I’m going to use Commission Blueprint 2.0© to market information products online and become a successful internet marketer.  Even though the system claims that this can be accomplished I have set a budget of $2000 to use while I follow the course.

Wish me luck!
